: 고대인도의 수량단위. 니유타(niyuta)라고 한다.
아유타(ayuta)의 100배, 코티(koti)의 1만 배이다.
코티가 1000만 또는 억(億)으로 불리기 때문에
나유타는 10¹¹ 또는 10¹²이 된다.
나유다(那由多)·나유타(那由佗) ·나술(那述)이라고도 한다.
1,000억을 말하는데, 때로는 10만 따위를 가리킬 때도 있다.
옛날 서적에는 자리를 나타내는 수사(數詞)
‘십·백·천·만·억·조’ 위에 ‘경(京)·해(垓)·자(秭)·
양(穰)·구(溝)·간(澗)·정(正)·재(載)·극(極)’ 등의 수사가
기재되어 있고, 불전(佛典)에서는 이 위에 ‘항하사(恒何沙)·
